Water meters: Dry Creek Water Association Inc. has over 500 water meters installed throughout the water systyem. Sizes range from 3/4" to 8", most of these meters are a mechanical displacement style meter while others are a digital magnetic meter.
- Mechanical displacement meter: It uses an internal mechanical component, such as an oscillating piston or a nutating disk, that moves with the water flow, driving a register to record the total volume consumed. These meters are commonly used in residential and small commercial applications
- Digital magnetic meter: It works by passing water through a magnetic field, which induces a voltage proportional to the water's velocity, as described by Faraday's Law of Electromagnetic Induction. This induced voltage is then converted into a digital flow rate reading on a display or transmitted to a computer
Locating your meter: Typically Dry Creek Water places the the water meters on the shoulder of the roads within Clallam County Right of Way. this helps keep us off private property to read and replace the meter if necassary. if you cannot find your meter please contact us and we can help locate it.
